With more than forty contemporary works created since its founding in 2010, the International Tapestry Centre has developed real expertise in the preparation and oversight of weaving projects. Since 2018, the Centre has been offering support for both public and private weaving projects, providing assistance at all stages of creating an Aubusson tapestry. These projects can be based directly on the Centre's collections (such as reweaving a piece from the Contemporary Fund or the historic collections) or on external works. Several weaving projects supported by local authorities, international institutions, public organizations, and collectors have already benefited from this service. This support can include assistance with selecting a suitable design for the tapestry, help with drafting public procurement contracts for weaving, choosing a workshop, raising artists' awareness of the tapestry medium, estimating the cost of a weaving project, and overseeing the preparation and actual weaving process itself.
