The museum
The collections of the Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie include works from the former Départemental Museum of Tapestry, founded by André Chandernagor in 1982 at the Jean Lurçat Cultural and Artistic Centre in Aubusson, enriched by an active dynamic of acquisition and contemporary creation implemented since 2010.

Our collections
The Cité internationale de la tapisserie presents a collection of tapestries from the 15th to the 21st century, as well as rugs, cartoon backgrounds, and models:
- 660 tapestries and rugs;
- 18,000 works of graphic art, including approximately 5,700 models or drawings;
- 60 woven furniture pieces;
- 20 pieces of weaving equipment and tools;
- 5,200 woven samples, a deposit from the ENAD (medium formats, learning samples);
- 600 pieces of Saracen embroidery, created by the students of the École de Jeunes Filles at ENAD between 1880 and 1918.

Our woven adventures
The large tapestry projects, Aubusson Weaves Tolkien and The Imagination of Hayao Miyazaki in Aubusson Tapestry, as well as the exceptional weaving of the 23-meter-long tapestry-installation Homage to George Sand, offer the public woven adventures centered around the creation of monumental works.
